Discover the idyllic, former railway line to the Huldinger Tunnel !

Technical Information :

Length :  3,54 km
Duration : 1 h
Starting point:  Infopoint Huldange
Degree of difficulty :  Easy
Altitude : 60 m

The former railway line ran from Aachen (D) to Troisvierges (L). During the construction of the "Vennbahn" cycle path, various bat species were discovered in the tunnel near Huldange. The tunnel and the surrounding area were designated as a protected area and a diversion and information board were set up.

The start of the hiking trail TV1 is at the InfoPoint in Huldange, opposite the K-Restaurant. First the trail leads over the "Vennbahn" cycle path, until it branches onto a small path in the wood.

A separate 900 meter path leads to the tunnel on the Luxembourgish side. On this path are didactic signs, an audio station and an interactive info station installed, that give information about the bats. The same stations are installed on the path on the Belgian side of the tunnel, which is 1000 meter long. In order to not disturb the sensitive bats, the tunnel is unfortunately inaccessible.

After you reach the hiking trail TV1 again, you walk along the stream Kléngelbur. At the next junction, the trail turns to the right. It first leads along fields before it continues into the wood. It finally arrives at the Burrigplatz, where you turn right to get to the starting point.
